The 6-Step Path Out of Founder-Led Sales
(No VP Required)

Most founders try to escape founder-led sales too early.
They hire a VP, cross their fingers, and disappear.

Six months later: $250,000 gone. Zero systems. Back to square one.

Here's the right sequence. It's slower. But it works.

Step 1. Sell until you have 10 to 15 customers.
Nobody can sell your product like you can yet.
Don't outsource what you haven't mastered.

Step 2. Document everything while you sell.
What objections come up?
What closes work?
What questions do buyers always ask?
This becomes your Sales Playbook.
The most important business document you'll ever write.

Step 3. Hire two salespeople. Not one. Wait, if you need cash.
One hire is a coin flip.
Two gives you a hedge, a little competition, and a future sales manager.

Step 4. Train them from your Sales Playbook.
Don't wing it.
They need to tell your story with the same conviction you do.

Step 5. Stay involved until they're closing on their own.
You're not done yet. Coach. Review the pipeline. Be present.

Step 6. Hire your first Sales Manager when you have 4 to 5 reps producing.
Now, and only now, you start stepping back from sales.

The founders who skip these steps pay for it.
The ones who follow them get their lives back.
