Sales is Simple. It's just not Easy

I bought my first CRM system in 1985. It handled 90% of what salespeople need today.

When I started my first business I knew I needed to keep track of my prospects. So, I bought what may have been the world’s first CRM system.

It was called The Sales Manager. It ran on my Compaq Deskpro under the DOS operating system.

Okay, Boomer. Tell me more.

Sales is 90% the same as it was in 1985. And, as it was in 1905.

1. Find a qualified prospect. 2. LISTEN to what they need. 3. Determine if what you offer can help them. 4. Present your case and close the deal. 5. And keep track of all of it in a CRM system.

Founders, don't overcomplicate sales for your team. Give them a process you’ve proven works.

The other 10% that CRM systems have today? AI research, email writing, robots calling your prospects, etc.. That’s all in support of the basics.

Sales is simple. It’s just not easy.
